The difference between ordinary and extraordinary--is that something extra.
2007 is off to a great start! We are seeing many buyers who have begun their search for a new home in earnest, and January home sales were up almost 8%. Many buyers are coming from out of town, relocating for second homes as well as for employment.
The inventory of available single family homes in Chittenden County as of mid February is 460 which has declined from the 2006 peak of 598 homes in the fall. In the condo market there are 250 available in all price ranges, and appreciation has slowed. There are now many choices for buyers looking in urban, suburban and country settings.
Home prices appear to have stabilized and coupled with historically low mortgage rates have helped make homes more affordable. The buyers are looking in all price ranges from starter homes to lakeshore properties and as always in Vermont, they are finding our area a wonderful environment to relocate to.
Mortgage interest rates are still very favorable with 30 Year fixed rates in the 6.25% range. Call us and we can assist you with financing questions, as well as the question of what you could qualify for a mortgage loan.
