The difference between ordinary and extraordinary--is that something extra.
The holiday season is one of my favorites in Vermont because you can behold the generosity of so many people. It is in the true spirit of giving, that true blessings of life come back to us in so many ways.
I would like to share with you a recipe I learned from an old family friend that I love preparing and serving
every year during the holidays. Enjoy!
Chocolate Peppermint Meringues - Makes: 60
-Heat oven to 375
-2 egg whites, beat until stiff
-1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
-3/4 C granulated sugar added gradually,
beating thoroughly after each addition.
(20min)
-Add a little red/green food coloring while
beating
-Add no more than 3 drops of peppermint oil
while beating.
-Fold in 1 C choc bits
-Drop by 1/2 tsp. on parchment paper lined
cookie sheet
-Put in oven and turn off heat 10 hrs
